Atlas Copco introduces four new portable air compressors to simplify drilling logistics and reduce operating costs

Atlas Copco has expanded its DrillAir range with four new portable air compressors: the X-Air 1100-23, X-Air 1200-25 PACE, X-Air 1200-30, and X-Air 1300-30 PACE. 

Developed for drilling applications in construction, mining and oil & gas, the new models combine high air output with a compact footprint to help customers lower transport costs, simplify logistics and improve productivity on site. 

Traditional drilling compressors often require a dedicated trailer or additional support vehicle for transport. The new DrillAir compressors are compact enough to fit on a drilling truck together with the drill stem, reducing fleet requirements and simplifying transport between job sites. 

Choose the right technology for your drilling application

Air requirements vary significantly between drilling applications, therefore the new DrillAir range offers two technology options: PACE and PRS. 

The X-Air 1200-25 PACE and X-Air 1300-30 PACE feature Atlas Copco’s proven PACE technology, allowing operators to adjust working pressure to suit the job.  This gives contractors more flexibility from a single compressor and can reduce the need for multiple fixed-pressure machines.

The X-Air 1100-23 and X-Air 1200-30 feature Atlas Copco’s PRS (Pressure Regulation System) combined with patented FuelXpert technology. FuelXpert automatically adjusts engine speed to match actual air demand, helping reduce fuel consumption and operating costs over time.

Built for demanding drilling environments

Drilling operations often take place in challenging conditions. High temperatures, dust, humidity and remote locations are common across construction, mining and oil & gas applications. Depending on the model and configuration, DrillAir compressors can operate in ambient temperatures of up to 55°C, with high-ambient and other optional configurations available for specific local operating conditions. 

Each model is equipped with Atlas Copco’s Xc2004 controller, giving easy access to machine information, diagnostics and maintenance data. FleetLink connectivity comes as standard, enabling remote monitoring and fleet management. 

Designed to maximize uptime

Maintenance was another key consideration during development: large service doors, easy access to service points and long service intervals help reduce servicing time and keep machines running productively. 

Built-in monitoring functions alert operators to potential issues early, while heavy-duty filtration systems help protect critical components from dust and other contaminants.
