London-listed Arc Minerals has announced copper mineralization at every target drilled in its joint venture (JV) copper project with Anglo American in Zambia.
The companies have identified priority targets for further exploration, with drilling planned to continue through Zambia’s rainy season. One particularly high-priority target near Muswema has gained attention due to its alteration mineralogy, which resembles known copper deposits in the Domes region of Zambia’s Copperbelt.
Arc Minerals’ chairperson, Nick von Schirnding, reported visible copper mineralization in core samples, which have been sent for laboratory analysis with results expected soon.
The JV spans an area of 870 km² in Zambia’s North-Western Province, with Anglo American holding a 70% stake and Unico Minerals, an Arc Minerals subsidiary, retaining the remaining 30%.
