Bell Equipment Mining & Construction has officially unveiled its new Bell G140 Motor Grader in Zambia, marking a significant step forward in supporting the country’s mining and construction industries with reliable, high-performance machinery.
The launch event, held in Kitwe, drew industry leaders, long-term customers, and Bell’s local partners, who witnessed the live demonstration of the G140—a machine reflecting Bell’s six decades of engineering expertise and customer-driven innovation.
Strengthening Local Support and Partnerships
Tristan Du Pisanie, Director at Bell Equipment South Africa, highlighted the company’s commitment to Zambia and the broader Southern African market.
“It’s a proud moment to bring the G140 to Zambia,” Du Pisanie said. “This machine embodies Bell’s dedication, loyalty, and spirit of innovation that have driven the company for nearly 60 years.”
He emphasized Bell’s focus on long-term customer support, reliable parts supply, and after-sales service, with Kitwe serving as a strategic hub to deliver responsive technical assistance, maintenance, and operator training across the Copperbelt.
A Product of Experience and Collaboration
Jeremiah Mokhomo, Product Manager for Grader Operations, explained that the G140 is the culmination of more than two decades of design and refinement, shaped by customer feedback and international engineering expertise.
“Our customers needed a mid-sized premium grader that combines power, reliability, and efficiency,” Mokhomo said. “The G140 was built to meet those exact demands, with features tailored to real-world challenges.”
Engineered for Performance in Africa
The G140 Motor Grader is designed for precision and productivity across applications including road construction, site preparation, and mine haul-road maintenance. Its high-torque, fuel-efficient engine delivers consistent power, while advanced hydraulics allow smooth, accurate blade control for fine grading.
Operator comfort is a key focus, with an ergonomic cab, improved visibility, and reduced vibration for extended working hours. Durability is ensured through a reinforced chassis and moldboard, while serviceability is enhanced via easy access to components and intuitive diagnostic systems.
Integrated telematics enable real-time monitoring of machine health, operating hours, and maintenance schedules, helping owners maximize uptime and fleet productivity.
Commitment to Zambia’s Development
Bell Equipment’s investment in Zambia reflects a broader strategy to expand across Africa by strengthening local partnerships, improving parts distribution, and enhancing after-sales service.
“Zambia is a key market for Bell Equipment,” Du Pisanie said. “The mining and construction industries are vital to the nation’s economy, and we are fully committed to supporting their growth with dependable machinery and professional service.”
He also highlighted the company’s focus on skills development, training Zambian technicians and operators to build local expertise and industry capacity.
Looking Ahead
The launch of the Bell G140 Motor Grader signals more than the introduction of a new machine—it represents Bell’s renewed commitment to Zambia’s infrastructure and mining future. Combining advanced engineering, robust performance, and dependable local support, the G140 is poised to help customers shape Zambia’s industrial growth.
“As a machine built on reliability, innovation, and partnership, the G140 embodies Bell Equipment’s mission,” Mokhomo concluded. “We are proud to introduce it here in Kitwe and look forward to seeing it support the country’s continued development.”
