Barrick Gold Drives Growth Through Strategic Investments and Robust Portfolio

Barrick Gold: Strengthening Growth with Strategic Investments and Tier-One Assets

Barrick Gold Corporation (NYSE: GOLD) (TSX: ABX) continues to solidify its position as an industry leader through its Tier One-focused asset portfolio and value-driven strategy. By fostering productive partnerships with host countries and investing in sustainable growth, the company is paving the way for long-term success.

At a recent investor presentation in New York, President and CEO Mark Bristow outlined Barrick’s achievements since its landmark merger. These include:

  • Generating $23 billion in operating cash flow.
  • Allocating $15 billion toward operations and growth projects.
  • Reducing net debt by nearly $4 billion.
  • Returning over $5 billion to shareholders.

“Our world-class projects are driving a new phase of growth, supported by focused exploration programs that maintain Barrick’s exceptional track record of reserve replacement,” Bristow said, highlighting the company’s strong 10-year production outlook.

Expanding Global Footprint

Barrick is advancing its presence in Chile, Peru, and Ecuador while enhancing its existing portfolio. Key projects in Nevada, such as mine extensions at Leeville, Goldrush, Hanson, Robertson, Swift, and Turquoise Ridge, are progressing steadily.

The newly permitted Goldrush Mine is ramping up production, while the adjacent Fourmile property, wholly owned by Barrick, is emerging as a significant asset. A preliminary economic assessment of Fourmile indicates it could generate annual operating cash flows at least 70% higher than the impressive Goldrush project.

Commitment to Sustainability and Stakeholder Value

Bristow emphasized Barrick’s holistic approach to sustainability, which is integral to its business strategy. This approach focuses on:

  • Maximizing asset value.
  • Building a world-class copper business.
  • Strengthening partnerships that benefit stakeholders, including host communities and employees.

By aligning its sustainability goals with its operational strategy, Barrick is enhancing its balance sheet, delivering disciplined shareholder returns, and attracting top talent who share its values.

A Strong Future Ahead

With a robust project pipeline, disciplined financial management, and a commitment to sustainability, Barrick Gold is well-positioned for its next growth phase. Its strategic investments and global partnerships ensure long-term value creation for shareholders while driving economic and social benefits in the regions where it operates.
