Canadian exploration company Loncor has unveiled promising results from its deep drilling program at the Adumbi Gold Mine in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), confirming high-grade gold deposits at various depths.
The latest drilling data revealed significant gold intersections, including:
✅ 26.94 grams per ton (g/t) at 0.45 meters
✅ 5.82 g/t at 16.07 meters
✅ 4.77 g/t at 22.64 meters
According to John Barker, CEO of Loncor, drill hole LADD027, positioned in the northwest of the Adumbi deposit, intercepted gold mineralization at a vertical depth of 478 meters—extending 75 meters beyond the previously defined $1,600/oz pit shell.
Underground Mine Plans in Motion
Barker emphasized that these results reinforce Loncor’s strategic vision to develop an underground mining operation that will complement its existing open-pit project.
Meanwhile, samples have been sent to SGS Laboratory in Tanzania for further analysis. Additional drilling is ongoing, with more results expected in March 2025.
Loncor’s discoveries mark a significant step forward in unlocking the full potential of the Adumbi deposit, positioning the company for a stronger presence in the DRC’s gold sector.
