President Hichilema to Officiate 2025 Zambia Mining and Investment Insaka

President Hakainde Hichilema will lead the 2025 Zambia Mining and Investment Insaka, scheduled for 7th to 10th October 2025, the Ministry of Mines and Mineral Development announced. Speaking ahead of the event, Minister Paul Kabuswe described this year’s Insaka as a landmark occasion for Zambia, reinforcing its reputation as a reliable and responsible destination for mining investment.

The event will take place under the theme: “Unlocking Africa’s Wealth: Advancing Sustainable Mining, Beneficiation, and Value Addition.” Minister Kabuswe highlighted that the theme reflects Zambia’s commitment to converting its mineral resources into long-term economic and social benefits for its citizens.

Building on the success of the inaugural Insaka in 2024, the 2025 edition will provide a platform for meaningful dialogue among government officials, investors, industry leaders, and local communities. The Minister also revealed that the Local Content Bill is nearly complete, with 99% of the work finalized. The legislation aims to increase Zambian participation across the mining value chain, ensuring that the country’s mineral wealth benefits its people directly.

The Insaka will focus on strategies for sustainable mining, value addition, and boosting economic growth, bringing together key stakeholders to shape Zambia’s mining future.
